IWD - Our Celebrations
It's 2020 now....we should not have to still campaign and be raising awareness for these issues that are still upon us. We did however make a tiny breakthrough days before IWD with the chancellor planning to end the tampon tax. We have been working closely with Period Poverty Charity Every Month MCR recently and the facts that we were provided with were appalling. 1 in 10 girls miss school around their period and 1 in 5 are living with period poverty.
We do still have our battle to win with the Gender Pay Gap & other major issues on women's rights, welfare, health and treatment however baby steps at a time make a big difference in the long run.
in light of IWD we have compiled a list of the (not so big) names in the world who were celebrated on the 8th of March, but those who are Queens killin' it!
